Resilia Launches New Collaboration to Strengthen Latinx and BIPOC-Led Organizations in Silicon Valley

New initiative will transform the capacity of 100 grassroots organizations in the Bay Area 

Beginning in January 2022, one hundred Latinx and BIPOC-led nonprofit partners of Silicon Valley Community Foundation (SVCF), representing the boots-on-the-ground changemakers of Silicon Valley, will receive unlimited access to Resilia’s technology and expert coaching in a groundbreaking new initiative. Resilia is thrilled to begin a new project centering grassroots organizations, which are part of Silicon Valley Community Foundation’s LatinXCELcel Fund and its other power- and movement- building programs.

An oft-cited critique of grantmakers is the void between intention and action; especially following the triple crises of the pandemic, civic unrest, and demands for racial justice that we witnessed in 2020. But SVCF is among a wave of leaders in philanthropy that are taking urgent steps to rapidly deploy resources to the communities and leaders who are ready to enact meaningful change.  

As a catalyst, connector and collaborator, Silicon Valley Community Foundation brings the resources and skills of donors, business, government and community to solve some of its region’s toughest challenges. Through their advocacy, research, policy and grantmaking, SVCF elevates and supports systemic solutions to drive enduring community change. 

“As we work towards building a more just and equitable future, Silicon Valley Community Foundation is looking at other ways beyond grantmaking where we can invest in BIPOC-led organizations so they can bolster their operations and organizational capacity,” says Gina D. By providing our nonprofit partners access to Resilia’s technical assistance, coaching and capacity-building support, they will have the tools they need to help sustain their critical work in our communities.”

This program connects Resilia’s ongoing work with historically underserved organizations to SVCF’s new capacity and leadership investment programs. These programs prioritize smaller organizations led by leaders of color serving San Mateo and Santa Clara counties.

Through Resilia’s Funder Program, SVCF’s nonprofit partners will have access to state-of-the-art technology created specifically for nonprofits led by and serving people of color, with on-demand resources for learning, professional development, board management, nonprofit governance, and fundraising. Nonprofits will also receive unlimited nonprofit coaching, delivered by Resilia’s diverse team of in-house experts who bring their lived experiences to every interaction. Participants can also receive coaching in Spanish with Resilia’s bilingual team.
