Resilia and Kalliopeia Foundation Partner to Strengthen Ecological and Social Change Organizations
New Orleans, La. - Resilia, a social enterprise with offices in New Orleans and New York City, and Kalliopeia Foundation, have come together to empower and support change makers with a focus on reconnecting ecology, culture, and spirituality in their communities.
The partnership aims to support the capacity building of a cohort of individuals and organizations working to reconnect ecology, culture, and spirituality.
Through this partnership, participating organizations are able to engage with Resilia’s multi-faceted capacity building program in a way that is meaningful to them, as they work towards strengthening organizational sustainability. The Resilia program supports change makers in building mission-facing and operational capacity, while supporting the creation and elevation of storytelling to drive advocacy and fundraising efforts. This is enabled through a combination of a personalized online platform, dedicated and unlimited 1:1 nonprofit coaching with Resilia’s team of nonprofit experts, and peer-to-peer learning models. The partnership aims to create multiple entry points into capacity building and meeting the nonprofits partners where they are.
“Resilia has allowed us to meet a long-time goal of serving our grantee partners beyond the grant by offering skillful and accessible support with capacity building. When our grantees tell us they’re stuck on an organizational challenge, it feels good to connect them to Resilia’s team who can follow up with resources, problem-solving strategies, or simply an experienced coach to talk things through.” said Sohrob Nabatian, Director of Grantmaking at Kalliopeia Foundation
Acknowledging the limited time, resources and specific needs of mission-driven organizations, Resilia’s online platform enables on-demand access to bite-sized trainings and downloadable resources, along with tools for storytelling, impact capture, board development, diversity representation and compliance. The cohort also gets access to Resilia’s newly launched fundraising tool, “Funder Finder,” an in-platform database to diversify funding sources while streamlining grant and funder research.
In parallel, all invited nonprofits have unlimited access to Resilia’s team of in-house nonprofit coaches whose expertise spans mission-facing functions like program management, advocacy, fundraising, board development and Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI), to operational support in finance, legal & HR.
Lastly, given the importance of collective impact in inspiring social change, peer-to-peer learning sits at the heart of the program to enable mentorship, resource sharing and movement building.
In the first two months of partnership, cohort nonprofits have engaged with a variety of Resilia’s programmatic tools to strengthen immediate needs. Examples include strategies to create impactful end-of-year giving materials for their supporter base, the development of a plan to recruit new members to their board, and opportunities to empower staff to effectively capture the impact of their mission through qualitative data.
“Resilia’s storytelling resources have been very useful in offering teachable moments as we work through improving our fundraising newsletters, focusing on crafting impactful stories to share with our supporters. The ability to have the additional support of a professional review by their team of nonprofit experts has been extremely helpful as we expand our staff,” said Wendy S., Operations Director of Agrarian Trust, one of Kalliopeia Foundation’s nonprofit partners with access to the Resilia program.
“Resilia’s mission is deeply grounded in empowering marginalized communities and we are thrilled about the potential of furthering this mission through our collaboration with Kalliopeia Foundation. This partnership will empower and enable capacity building for so many nonprofits who are tirelessly working in their communities in pursuit of innovative and connective change for our planet,” said Sevetri Wilson, Founder & CEO, Resilia.
