Resilia and The Boston Foundation Partner to Strengthen Social Justice Organizations

New Orleans, La. - Resilia, a social enterprise with offices in New Orleans and New York City, and The Boston Foundation, one of the nation’s largest and oldest community foundations, have come together to strengthen nonprofit partners driving social change in the Greater Boston community.

The partnership falls under the Boston Foundation’s Social Justice Ecology Framework and aims to build the capacity of a cohort of mostly Black, Indigenous, People of Color (BIPOC) led nonprofit partners with budgets below $5 million. The framework supports conditions for social justice to thrive in Greater Boston by providing access to resources and support for people, movements, and nonprofit organizations working to disrupt persistent structural and institutional inequity.

Through this partnership, invited organizations will be able to access Resilia’s multi-faceted capacity building program as they work towards organizational sustainability. The Resilia program helps change makers build mission-facing and back-office capacity while helping elevate stories to drive advocacy and fundraising efforts. This is enabled through a combination of an online platform, unlimited 1:1 nonprofit coaching and peer-to-peer learning models, thereby enabling multiple entry points into capacity building and meeting nonprofits where they are.

“Our partnership with Resilia advances our commitment to support equity and effectiveness in Greater Boston's nonprofit sector. Resilia’s nonprofit centric approach allows them to be a resource that holistically builds organizational capacity. Their on-demand trainings, tools and 1:1 coaching caters to leaders’ availability and needs, being responsive to many of the challenges that the sector is facing today. We are excited for our nonprofit partners to benefit from this platform, especially BIPOC leaders that are doing crucial work on the ground in our communities,” says Talissa Lahaliyed, The Boston Foundation.

Acknowledging the limited time, resources and specific needs of social justice and grassroots organizations, the online platform enables on-demand access to bite-sized trainings and downloadable resources, along with tools for storytelling, impact capture, board development, diversity representation and compliance. The cohort also gets access to Resilia’s newly launched fundraising tool, “Funder Finder” to diversify funding sources while streamlining grant and funder research.

In parallel, all invited nonprofits get unlimited access to Resilia’s team of in-house nonprofit coaches whose expertise spans mission-facing functions like program management, advocacy, fundraising, board development and Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI), to back office finance, operations, legal & HR.

Lastly, given the importance of collective impact to social justice efforts, peer-to-peer learning sits at the heart of the program to enable mentorship, resource sharing and movement building.

“Resilia’s mission is deeply grounded in empowering marginalized communities and we are thrilled about the potential of furthering this mission through our collaboration with The Boston Foundation. This partnership will help empower and build capacity for so many nonprofits who are tirelessly working in their communities in pursuit of social justice,” says Sevetri Wilson, Founder & CEO, Resilia.
